Fall bucket list: check out all the fun activities that I’ll be up to this fall!
Hi beautiful people, today I’m going to be discussing my fall bucket list! After getting back from an international trip, my boyfriend and I really wanted a couple weeks (especially weekends) at home to just chill and hang with friends & family. We’ve been talking about all the things we want to do this fall, so I figured posting a fall bucket list would help both keep me accountable to myself – but also serve as inspiration for anyone else looking for something to do this fall!
I think I’ll come back and edit the post with pictures as I accomplish all the things on my fall bucket list! 🙂
This one is pretty much a fall staple. Everyone needs to go on a fall hayride! Perhaps I’ll go crazy and make it a haunted hayride. Either way, this one needs to be before Halloween… so I better get working on it.
#2: Cider Mill
Another one that is an every-year-fall-staple. For those that don’t know, a cider mill is just where we Midwesterners go to get apple cider, donuts, apples, pumpkins, other treats… basically anything fall-feeling. I was blown away to learn when I lived in Washington DC that none of my friends even knew what a cider mill was! They did, however, know what an apple orchard is at least (t God). We have the BEST cider mills here in Michigan!
Usually the fall music scene is a little lame, after all the major bands and singers tour over the summer. I would like to try to get in one cheap concert this fall just for fun 🙂
#4: Dinner & Bar Night in Detroit
It’s funny… for having lived in metro Detroit for 13 of my 26 years, I still am not extremely familiar with the city of Detroit. I spent most of my childhood afraid to go down there, but as a young adult, I’ve come to learn that it’s not so scary after all. There is a TON of economic development happening in Detroit right now, and honestly I could write an entire post about that. I don’t enjoy defending the city that I call home, so I won’t… but please know that Detroit is NOT scary, it’s a comeback city, and its future is looking very bright. I love chill nights downtown grabbing dinner and a few drinks with my boyfriend in the city & can’t wait to do it again this fall!
#5: Run a 5k
Confession time: I am not completely in shape. I like to work out, but since I adopted my puppy, I have maintained an absolutely horrible schedule of going to the gym/ working out at home. Now that the pup is a little bit older, I’ve decided to make a commitment to myself to work out regularly since he can be out of his crate for much longer periods of time. A great way to kick this off: registering for a 5k run! I ran cross country in high school, and once a runner, always a runner… so it shouldn’t be too hard for me to bust this out! I’m thinking the Turkey Trot in Detroit on Thanksgiving Day would be a ton of fun.
#6: Football Game
This one is already on the calendar! I’ll be attending the Michigan State homecoming football game in just a couple weeks. My parents bought tickets for the whole family, so I can’t wait to tailgate and watch some football in the crisp Michigan autumn 🙂
#7: Theater Performance
This one is a little random.. but I want to see a musical or play this fall! I’ve already been doing my research and I think I’ve decided on Elf: The Musical, which is coming to Detroit the week before Christmas. A little late in the “fall,” I know, but Elf sounded much more fun to watch than any of the other musicals or plays!
#8: Red Wings Game
Of course, this is transferrable to any sports game you want to see. My boyfriend, dad, and brother all played hockey growing up, so our family has always been more of a hockey family than a football family. Plus, the Red Wings are starting their first season in a brand new arena tonight! We want to go check out the awesome new arena, see how they honored retired players and the old arena, and grab a couple drinks at some nearby bars.
#9: Comedy Club
This is something that I absolutely love to do, but never do enough. There’s a place pretty close to where I live that has a year-round comedy club that I’ve only heard good things about, and it’s about damn time I check it out.
What are you planning to do this fall? Let me know in the comments!
