Today, I received my first ever Boxycharm! I’ve tried a few different beauty subscription services in the past, but wasn’t exactly impressed, and eventually cut it off to save dat monay $$. However, my girl Kathleen Lights has a series of Boxycharm unboxing videos (or as she calls them, “boxyshermmmm unboxin”) that I am absolutely addicted to, and I couldn’t help but scratch the itch and subscribe to Boxycharm. I wanted to share with my beautiful readers what was in this month’s box! Let’s dive in.
Real Her Shadow Pallette II
I used these the first morning after opening up my Boxycharm for a neutral eye for a typical day at work. Most of the colors are shimmery, with just a couple more satin/ matte-ish tones. I’m a big fan of staying neutral and rarely experiment with a ton of color in my eye makeup looks, so these colors looked perfect for me. The colors swatched pretty well, but I felt like I was putting on layer upon layer of shimmery colors to get them to even show up on my eyelid. Beautiful colors, but would prefer a little more pigmentation from them so I didn’t feel like I needed to put on a zillion layers. You can see the swatches on my arm… some are much stronger than others (excuse the bathroom setting – it has some of the best natural light in my house)
Ofra Liquid Lipstick in… (unknown? not on packaging!)
Pretty, mauvey, nudey, purple. Very pigmented and stayed on all day when I tried it out. It’s a muted color, and I think I can pull it off every once in a while. Bold makeup (and bold lips) intimidate me, so I don’t delve into them too often, but this lipstick is beautiful. I think I’ll probably use it more often in the fall/winter than in the height of summer.
Artist Couture Diamond Glow Powder in Illuminati
Holy sparkle! This highlight is very shimmery and very shiny… which I LOVE. This is perfect for when you want to add a little extra flair on the weekend or for girl’s night out. It’s going to be PERF for my bachelorette party coming up this weekend! It even looks like a very universal color that would look beautiful on any skin tone 🙂
Luxie Pro Precision Tapered Brush #640
This brush will be great for packing on powder in specific areas – under the eye, on the chin, etc. I have used it a couple times to highlight and the jury’s still out. It’s not very dense and the bristles are very long, which is generally a combo I’m not into for a tapered brush. So far not my favorite, but we’ll see!
3 Bio Belle Sheet Masks
These look so great & I am beyond excited to try them! The three masks serve different purposes: one hydrates & nourishes, one diminishes the appearances of fine lines, and the last one preps the skin for flawless makeup application. I normally enjoy sheet masks as a way of relaxation so looking forward to using each of these lil babies.
